Bathroom on a jobsite?

Hi welcome back, Donnie D. here

Today I will discuss with you a ark-ward subject. When having a contractor work in your home can he or she use your bathroom? And when I mean the bathroom, I mean the toilet, not just the sink.

  1. Set the expectations with the contractor

  2. Can he or she use your bathroom at all during the prject

  3. Will you the client want the contractor to rent a porta potty for the project and be ok paying the fee or not.

I have personally been working in peoples homes since 1999. Grew up working for my fathers company as a laborer and then carpenter. Most of the time people were ok with us using there bathroom during the project. That said it can still be ark-ward using the bathroom when the clients are home or even needing to use it when they need to get in there before work. Its comfortable for both parties. On rare occasion I have had clients not allow myself or anyone working on the home to use the clients bathroom during the project. This could have been discussed before the projects began or at least the starting day of the project.
